UKActive COVID-19 Response Approved
We are closely following government guidelines and are also working with the industry body UKActive to ensure you and our teams' safety.

We are one of the first clubs in the UK to achieve the UKActive COVID Approved Clubs.

What safety measures have you put in place?

We are closely following government guidelines are also working with the industry body ukactive to ensure your and our teams' safety.

We are one of the first clubs in the UK to achieve the ukactive COVID Approved Clubs.

Following the new guidelines recently set out by the government, we have implemented the following measures:

  • A forehead temperature check will be conducted to everybody entering the club.  This also applies to our staff.  Those with a higher than acceptable temperature (37.8 C) will be denied entry to the club.
  • Wearing a facemask is necessary when ordering drinks to consume in the Reception seating area, and when entering and exiting the Bar.  In Both instances, once you are sitting at a table you can take your facemask off.  Tables are only available to members of the same household.  The Bar is table service only.
  • All staff must wear a mask or visor behind Reception and in the Bar & Restaurant
  • A Risk Assessment has been carried out on all areas and activities at the club, to ensure any risks are minimised, copies of which can be viewed by members on request.
  • There are numerous Hand sanitiser stations located throughout the club.
  • Members and staff must sanitise their hands when entering and leaving the club.
  • You collect your own personal spray sanitiser bottle from Reception to use in the Gym, on court and equipment-based classes.  Use the tissue from the numerous dispensers around the club to sanitiser and surfaces touched, before and after using.  Return the bottle at the end of your visit, which we then sanitise
  • A strict cleaning, sanitation and infection control protocol is adhered to by all staff.
  • All our team of staff have been trained on these new procedures and their part to play in minimising the risk of transmission.
  • A one-way system is in operation in certain areas of the club and we ask all members to follow the direction signs.
  • Club Kingswood has been adapted to maintain and allow social distancing between fellow members and staff wherever possible.
  • Members must sanitise all equipment and mats before and after using with their spray disinfectant and tissue provided.
  • All the team of staff and Club Kingswood members agree to follow the government social distancing guidance and the clubs social distancing rules wherever possible.
  • Those who do not, or forget to adhere to the clubs social distancing rules will be politely reminded by a member of our team.

Do I need to pre-book to use the Gym?

Following the announcement from the Government, ukactive the governing body for health clubs, has published their guidance for re-opening Health Clubs and Gyms.

We are not operating a booking system for using the Gym at present.  The requirement is to calculate our Maximum Capacity, calculated on the size of the premises, therefore if we ever reach this limit then we have to operate a 'one in, one out' system.

Is the Swimming Pool Open?

The Swimming Pool will be open, with a maximum capacity of 6 members.

Adult Only and Family Swim Times will be divided into ½ hour bookable slots, with a maximum of 6 in the Pool.  These slots can be booked by phoning the club the day before you intend to swim or on the day if there is availability.

The Steam & Sauna Rooms are now open, with the capacity reduced by 50%.  You must pre-book your 20 minute session up to 24 hours in advance, at Reception or by calling the club.  The area is regularly sanitised and has a 10 minute break between sessions to allow for fresh air circulation and sanitising

Can I use the Changing Rooms and Showers?

Members will be encouraged to arrive and leave in their kit; however, the Changing Rooms and showers will be open, with every other locker closed to help with social distancing

Can I Play Squash or Racketball?

The Squash courts will be open and England Squash have issued the guidance in conjunction with Public Health England.

Play is only permitted between members of the same household or solo practice.  Professional coaching is also allowed.

All Courts will be 40-minute slots 'on the hour' with the required 20 minute breaks between to allow for the required fresh air to be replenished.

.

Players must not touch the sides of the courts, and must disinfect the door handle before and after play with the Blue Roll and Disinfectant spray bottles by the courts.

Hire rackets and balls will not be available at the moment, so please bring your own.

The windows must remain open for adequate airflow throughout the day.

What Classes will be available?

We are bringing back a number of our classes with reduced numbers in the class to ensure Social Distancing.  Studio 2 will be a 'Virtual Only' Studio with more of your favourite Les Mills Virtual Classes to choose from.

Virtual Classes have a capacity of 6 for Studio and 10 for Spinning and can be pre booked up a week before as per the live classes.  Book online, on our App, on the phone or at Reception.

Please do not queue outside the Studios as this causes a 'bottle neck' for other members trying to pass through.

Members must disinfect any equipment or mats used in the class before and after the class.

Please bring your own Yoga mat if you are doing a Yoga, Pilates or Body Balance Class
